IPSWICH dads are secretly looking forward to being pampered on Father’s Day.

According to one local business massages, manicures, facials and full body scrubs are increasingly popular with men in the region.

Ipswich beauty therapist and Urban Day Spa owner Esther Trapp said that the top three services that were booked by men are massage, facials and full body scrubs.

“Tradies make up about half of our male clients, and they are typically aged between 25 and 55,” she said.

“Men are a significant portion of our client base, and that trend has climbed in the last three years.”

Local social media expert and CEO of Zec Media, Kate Bennie said visual platforms like Facebook and Instagram contributed to the growing number of men seeking out beauty therapy.

“It is all about the experience,” she said.

“Add to that the ease and convenience of researching, browsing and booking online that is now available, social media is empowering men on their journey of self-care.”

Dads of all ages and backgrounds contact Urban Day Spa for treatments according to Ms Trapp.

“A lot of men say that being well groomed makes them feel more attractive and it is definitely becoming a higher priority for men in Ipswich,” she said.

“Kids and ladies, do your homework. Your special man might not be looking forward to socks and a tie on Father’s Day.

“He might secretly be hoping for a facial, pedicure, massage or full body scrub.”
